Egytreat
103
An
Admixture for mortars and
concrete to modify performance and properties
General
properties:
dark brown liquid produced from
the dissolution of a number of organic compounds in water which when
mixed with
mortars and concrete would improve workability as well as the
properties of the
final product . These improvements are particularly demonstrated in the
decrease of porosity and water absorption and the increase in the
strength
properties.
Scope
of
utilization:
Egytreat 103 is used
with all types of Portland cement that are used in the production of
mortars
and concrete that are used in submerged constructions, bridges and
tanks ,
above and underground, which could be subjected to different
environmental and
weathering conditions.
Advantages:
· Increase
workability while decreasing the water content.
· Can
result
in the retardation of setting if added in relatively high amounts.
· Would
result in the increase of early strength
· Would
result in the decrease of porosity and water absorption as well as
water
permeability hence lowering the effect of soluble salts and other
chemical
compounds of harmful effect on the properties of mortars and concrete.
· Decrease
the shrinkage of concrete and mortar
· Increase
the density of mix hence the increase in strength.
Properties:
Brown liquid free of chlorides and suitable for use with
all types of Portland cement.
Method
of
use:
the liquid is added in controlled amounts either to the
mixing water of concrete and mortar or after mixing with water.
Rate
of use:
between 0.3% to 0.75% of the weight of cement or between
1 and 2.25 kg/m3 of concrete . The increase in the amount of added
admixture
could result in increasing the setting time of the mix. Accordingly, it
is
recommended to carry out necessary test by client if it is desired to
increase
the content of the admixture.
Safety
precautions:
Egytreat 103 is not
toxic and inflammable. It generally recommended to avoid swallowing or
getting
in contact with eyes in which case it should be washed thoroughly with
water
Storage:
18 months from the date of production
